Ginger and Black

Ginger and Black began as a small range of gifts at The Courtyard a small design led gift shop in Little Crosby, Liverpool. The new Ginger and Black website allows the business to cater for a much larger audience and promote a greater range of products.

WestWindMoves were selected to build a new E-Commerce site for Ginger and Black on the basis of word of mouth recommendations from other businesses within the region.

Technology - How it was built...

XHTML
The code returned to the visitors web browser is written in XHTML. XHTML is the latest standard in web page coding.

ASP
The components of the site - web pages, products, databases are built using the server side scripting lanaguage - Active Server Pages (ASP)

Database
The site is database driven - all products information and general page content is stored in a backedn database. The relevant information is extracted from the database and displayed on the web pages where appropriate.

Paypal IPN
Paypal IPN is integrated within the site - Paypal is used to securely process the orders taken on the website with regard to credit/debit card details. Once Paypal has approved the transaction, Staff are automatically notified that the transaction was succesful and also the details of the ordered goods.

CMS
A Content Management System (CMS) is in place to allow non-technical staff to update the website content without web coding knowledge.
